Pont Saint-Etienne

It is one of the two medieval bridges in Limoges (with the Saint-Martial bridge), the only ones to span the Vienne until the construction of the Pont-Neuf (1838). Launched at the very beginning of the 130th century, it was modified several times. Bridge with forepeaks, XNUMX meters long, it was protected until the end of the XNUMXth century by a dovecote, a vast framework comb intended to hold back the trains of driftwood which descended from the mountain to supply the porcelain factories. and carpenters' workshops.
