Gare des Bénédictins
Impressive is the word that comes to mind! Built according to the plans of Roger Gonthier, on the grounds of a former Benedictine convent, the building is the pride of the Limougeauds. Since 1929, the immense 31 meter high dome and its adjoining campanile, which rises 61 meters above the ground, have watched over the city, wearing their copper hat. Enter the large hall and look up: in addition to magnificent allegorical sculptures by Henri Varenne, the art-deco stained glass windows by Francis Chigot take on all their luminous value here.
