Limoges can easily be discovered for a day, for a weekend on foot (be warned, it's hilly where we live). Our destination is full of picturesque alleyways, iconic monuments and historic districts that will charm you.
To explore the city independently, pick up the brochure "Limoges route, along the city" in digital format French, a English ou Spanish or paper format (to be collected from the tourist office, 12 boulevard de Fleurus).
You will discover two routes of approximately 2 hours each in the two iconic districts of Limoges: Upper Town with the Butchery district et the Cité district. The brochure introduces you to the must-see buildings.

Discover Limoges by public transport
By bus or trolley
Make getting around Limoges easier with the TCL bus network which serves the main districts and surrounding towns.
Since January 6, 2024, the Modalis card, ecological and practical, allows you to travel on the TCL network and its partners in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Plan your trip on modalis.fr or via the interactive map on stcl.fr, consult bus timetables, the rates and buy your tickets online on the e-shop or the Modalis application.
Also take advantage of innovations like direct payment in validating your contactless bank card directly on board by passing it in front of the validator with a unit fare of €1,50 or the Freedom formula, which allows you to travel and pay at the end of the month at the advantageous rate of €1,35 per trip.
By free electric shuttle
Tired of walking or need a helping hand to get around? Take advantage of the free electric shuttles to stroll around the city center with complete peace of mind. Set up by Limoges Metropolis, they circulate Wednesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 18:30 p.m. without interruption with a passage every 8 minutes. These shuttles serve the pedestrian areas and commercial areas of the city center with stops on demandThey pass through Place de la République, Rue Jean Jaurès, Mairie, Quartier des Halles, Place d'Aine, Rue A. Dubouché, Rue des Combes and also via the city center parking lots (Place de la République, Town Hall, Place de la Motte, Place d’Aine, etc.). Non-polluting and friendly, they can accommodate 22 people and are accessible to people with reduced mobility (PRM).
