As we don't want to get involved in the famous debate that always ends with "in any case, it's always me who paddles", we will simply give you our top spots for canoeing, kayaking and paddleboarding while enjoying the magnificent landscapes of Limoges and our Limousin.

Descents and rental of canoes, kayaks or paddleboards
At the Sablière leisure center in Palais-Sur-Vienne
Just 10 minutes from Limoges, the Sablière leisure center in Palais-sur-Vienne offers you canoe, kayak or paddleboard trips and equipment rental in July and August. Accessible to all levels, these activities are ideal for combining leisure, relaxation, and sport, whether solo, in pairs, or in groups. It's an opportunity to explore new landscapes different from those we know so well in Limoges. The descents take place every Saturday du July 12 to August 30, 2025 inclusive with three departures per day : two in the morning at 10h et 11h, and one in the afternoon at 14h. Count approximately 2 hours of navigation for a descent of 8 kilometers with 2 possible routes: from Saint-Priest-Taurion at the Palais-Sur-Vienne ou from the Palais-Sur-Vienne to Limoges.

What if we went a little further, for one or more days, to a little corner of paradise? On our Limousin lakes, it's a holiday atmosphere and water sports all summer long: canoeing, paddleboarding, pedal boats, wakeboarding and many other water activities... there's plenty to make waves in a good mood!

At the lake of Saint-Pardoux
Ideal body of water to cool off in summer, Lake Saint-Pardoux is the favorite spot for Limoges families with its three supervised beaches, his walks and its many activities sports and nautical : treetop adventure course, water park, electric scooters, sailing, wakeboarding… All summer long, head to the Santrop beach Explore the lake's natural side by canoe! Rentals are available on site, along with pedal boats, paddleboards, and electric boats.

At Lake Vassivière
And you, do you know Lake Vassivière? It's called “Little Canada” around here, and frankly, it deserves its nickname with its beautiful landscapes! With its 1000 hectares of water et its 45 km of shoreline, it is a real playground for fishermen, Sunday swimmers and water sports fans. You will find there six supervised beaches, a tree climbing park and numerous hiking and mountain biking trails all around the lake.
Want to head out to sea? Rent a canoe (2, 3, or 4-seater), a kayak, or a paddleboard and explore the lake at your own pace. And for an even more magical experience, try a sunset stroll, a nature outing to observe the flora and fauna, or even a whitewater rafting trip on the Maulde! Don't worry: all these activities are supervised (unless you prefer a self-guided rental).
