Stade d'Athlétisme Marie-José Perec
A major new facility has strengthened the practice of athletics in Nouvelle-Aquitaine: the Marie-José Pérec indoor stadium, recently inaugurated on the Cheops 87 site, south of Limoges, in the presence of the three-time Olympic champion.
This modern 8,400 m² complex pays tribute to a legend of French sport while offering high-level facilities: a 200 m ring with banked turns (6 lanes), a 60 m straight line with 8 lanes, areas for jumps and throws.
A dedicated warm-up area completes the facility, with a 120m straight line (4 lanes), jumping areas and a cage for hammer and discus training.
This project was co-funded by the Haute-Vienne Department, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, and the National Sports Agency. It marks a new step in the promotion of athletics in the region.
