Jørn Lier Horst, Guest of Honor

Former police officer Jørn Lier Horst, born in 1970, has established himself as one of the great voices of Scandinavian crime fiction. Translated into twenty-six languages, his investigations carried out by the character of William Wisting have passed more than ten million copiesHis work has earned him numerous prestigious awards, including the Glass Key, Riverton Prize, Martin Beck Award or the Swedish Academy of Crime Writers Prize. Several of his novels have been adapted into a television seriesA prolific author, he also successfully turned to children's literature.

With forty editors to his credit, he comes straight from Norway to meet the Vins Noirs public!

This unique exhibition explores the world of Sherlock Holmes, literary origins of the myth to the most recent cultural variations.

Investigate at his side and try to elucidate the mysterious disappearance of a porcelain cup at a new treasure hunt, inspired by the novel Sherlock Holmes in Limoges on porcelain by Jean-Louis Boudrie. Scrutinize each clue to find this emblematic object of Limoges porcelain art! The Black Wine Festival is an annual event celebrating crime fiction and black wine in a unique atmosphere combining investigations, tastings, author meetings and cultural events.

The Vins Noirs 2025 festival takes place from June 11 to 15 in Limoges.

The festival usually takes place in several emblematic places in the city such as Place de la Motte, BFM, the Francophone Multimedia Library in the city center, the Adrien Dubouché National Museum and other cultural sites.

The Vins Noirs Festival offers a variety of activities such as wine tastings, sessions of signings with renowned authors, writing workshops, film screenings, workshops for children.

Some festival activities require a fee, such as the museum tour or guided tours. Prices and conditions are generally indicated on the official program for the upcoming festival.

On Saturday, June 14, from 10 a.m. to 18 p.m. and Sunday, June 15, from 10 a.m. to 13 p.m., on Place de la Motte, visit the “polar village” for a wine tasting with the authors and winemakers.
