On the weekend of March 28 and 29, 2026, Limoges will once again vibrate to the rhythm of Popular strides, one of the most anticipated running events in Haute-Vienne. Whether you are a seasoned runner seeking a 10km record or a walker wishing to support a charitable cause, this large sporting gathering transforms the city centre streets into a festive and friendly playground.
An iconic race
Organized by the newspaper Le Populaire du Centre, these races are much more than just a competition: they are a true local institution. Between the athletic challenge and the electric atmosphere at the start, they offer something for everyone. Place Denis Dussoubs and the fervor of the spectators, this 11th edition is the perfect opportunity to discover the heritage of Limoges from a dynamic perspective.

The 5 km

Departure on March 29th at 9am
Perfect for those who want to experience the atmosphere of official races without committing to a long distance, the 5km is a fast-paced and dynamic event. It's the preferred format for runners looking to beat their speed record or for beginners embarking on their first timed challenge.
The 10 km

Departure on March 29th at 10am
This is the flagship distance of the event. 10 kilometer(s) from Limoges It attracts both regional stars and weekend runners. With a demanding urban course, it's the perfect opportunity to test yourself on a legendary distance and enjoy the enthusiastic support of the public along the entire route.
The 2x5km relay

Departure on March 29th at 10am
The relay allows you to share the effort and adrenaline with a partner. The first runner sets off on a 5km loop before passing the baton to their partner at the designated transition point. It's the perfect option for pairs of friends, couples, or colleagues who want to experience the Foulées du Populaire in a spirit of teamwork and camaraderie.

The Pink Run:

Beyond the sporting performance, the Foulées du Populaire are marked by a wave of solidarity: the Pink StridesThis non-timed event is the heart of the festival. Open to everyone, it raises funds for the fight against cancer.
Wearing their traditional pink t-shirts, participants set off on a 5km walk or run at their own pace. The goal isn't the stopwatch, but supporting patients and research. It's a deeply moving event that brightens the streets of Limoges and demonstrates the generosity of the people of Haute-Vienne. Whether with family, friends, or even a stroller, the Pink Run is open to everyone, so that everyone can contribute.
The route through the heart of Limoges
Running the Foulées du Populaire is like taking a high-intensity guided tour of Limoges. The course has been designed to offer maximum visibility to runners while minimizing technical difficulties, even if the Limoges terrain always holds a few surprises.

A legendary departure from Place Denis Dussoubs
The match kicks off in Place Denis Dussoubs, opposite the imposing Gare des Bénédictins, often cited as one of the most beautiful in France. The atmosphere is electric, fueled by the sound system and the cheers of the many spectators gathered behind the barriers.
An urban and heritage-focused layout
The course winds through the city's main thoroughfares, offering breathtaking views of the historic center. The 10km runners complete two loops, giving spectators several opportunities to see their champions pass by. Between sharp changes of pace and challenging climbs, the route demands careful pacing, but the enthusiastic crowds in the shopping streets help to make runners forget their fatigue.


A triumphant arrival
The finish line, located in Place de la République, is the scene of moments of pure emotion. The partner village welcomes the finishers with cheers, rewarding the efforts of everyone, from the first to arrive to the last brave souls.

Are you ready to take on the challenge? Don't delay in booking your race number! Registration is exclusively online on the official event website.
Trial fees
The prices are attractive to encourage maximum participation. Good to know: the earlier you register, the more you benefit from attractive rates.
- 10 km “Le Populaire”: from €15 (price subject to change)
- 5 km: from €11 (price subject to change)
- 2 x 5 km relay: From €11 per runner, or €22 per team (price subject to change)
- The Pink Run (solidarity walk/run): €12 (of which €7 is donated to the League Against Cancer). Free for children under 12.
Medical certificate and PPS: What you need to know
For timed events (10 km, 5 km and Relay), you must provide proof of your fitness for the sport. In accordance with the new regulations of the French Athletics Federation, you can now replace the medical certificate with the Health Prevention Pathway (PPS)It's a simple and free process that can be completed online on the FFA website. Note that the Pink Run, not being timed, does not require any certificate.
Packet/Bib Pick up
Bib collection and your welcome gift will take place at Place de la République:
- Friday, March 27th, from 14pm to 19pm (group collection for the Corporate and Individual Challenge)
- Saturday, March 28th, from 10am to 19pm (group collection for the Corporate and Individual Challenge)
- Sunday, March 29th, from 7:30 am until 30 minutes before the start of your event (individual withdrawals only)
