3 new locations

Join us for the 42e edition Reading in Limoges June 5, 6 and 7, 2026 where writers and readers gather to celebrate their love of books. This new edition will celebrate all literary universes (general, regional, crime fiction, manga, comics and youth) and will take place:

  1. at the “Merry-Go-Round“, the city's former car park, on rue du Pont Saint-Martial, for the Author signings.
    A little nod to history: Built in 1873, this historically significant site once housed the horses of the 20th Dragoons, in the heart of the former military quarter of the “Seminary,” now known as the Blanqui administrative complex. It boasts a superb wooden frame, still visible today and beautifully showcased for the Lire à Limoges book festival.
  2. At the City Halla prestigious setting for the Youth Awards Ceremony.
  3. At the BFM city center, the essential spot for readers for the Major Interviews and Meetings with the authors who are making literary headlines.

The new site of the “Manège” was designed to be as close as possible to the BFM and the city center, while offering easy access and plenty of parking options.

Le Friday June 5 2026The students will have the chance to welcome an author into their classroom for an hour of sharing, in the morning or in the afternoon.

An original school project

This year, the collaborative project puts the philosophy in the spotlight The singer-songwriter David Sire will accompany the classes throughout the year to the BFM city center, with workshops leading to a final presentation during the showOn the agenda: exploring fear and its boundaries and discover antidotes like courage, tenderness, and curiosity. 5 literary prizes

Discover the literary prizes of the City of Limoges, selected by the librarians of the Bfm and the literary agency Les Belles Pages:

  • The Grand Fire Prize highlights an author based in New Aquitaine, more specifically in Limousin, for a work published the year before the Salon. Readers will be able to vote again in 2026.
  • The Cazettes Prize (Comics) reward one comic strip by a young authorThree titles were selected, chosen by a mixed jury of professionals and readers, supported by the Image and Sound department of the Bfm. Online voting form available at the end of February.
  • The Biscuit Prize (youth) for cycle 3 students : two jury classes will exchange ideas with the three authors during the The prize will be awarded on June 5th at 15:30 pm at the Town Hall.
  • The Sparks Prize (young adult novel) is intended for high school student jurors, with award ceremony June 5th at 10:30 am at City Hall in the presence of the three selected authors.
  • Le Val de l'Aurence Schools Prizesupported by teachers, it encourages reading among children with books chosen from the Youth selection of the Salon.

Bérénice Pichat, guest of honor 2025

In 2025, the Lire à Limoges book fair highlighted Bérénice Pichat, a young author from Le Havre. A primary school teacher with a passion for history, she captivated the public with her first novel The Little Maid, exploring the right to die after the Great WarA unique writing style and a powerful narrative that had captivated the President of the Salon, Michel Bussi, and confirmed his commitment to supporting the new literary talents.

Authors present for the 2025 edition

The 2025 Lire à Limoges book fair brought together major authors:

  • Mathias Malzieux Artist and musician, creator of dreamlike worlds. His key works: Now that it's always dark on you (Flammarion) The Mechanics of the Heart (adapted into an animated film), A mermaid in Paris (Albin Michel).
  • Olivier Tournut Specialist in novels blending fiction and testimony, with Post Mortem (Fayard), winner of the Goldsmiths' Prize 2025.
  • Anaëlle Jonah : A committed author exploring contemporary emotions, particularly in Dance with your chains (Fayard), selected for the Fnac Novel Prize 2024.
  • Helen in Paris : Social media phenomenon, author of Tadam! The anti-manual of etiquette (Leduc), a funny and quirky book to brighten up everyday life.

Regarding children's literature:

  • Gaël Aymond: A key figure in adolescent literature, known for his committed novels
  • Helen Lenoir : Author who stands out for her fine and striking writing
  • Elodie Chan : A promising new voice in children's illustration
  • Cruschiform : Talented illustrator and author, with a very recognizable graphic universe
