La Velidale, connects theocean from Saint-Nazaire in Loire-Atlantique to Limousin on the banks of the Vassivière lake between Haute-Vienne et Dig… it also works the other way! With its 665 km, the Vélidée crosses 5 regional natural parks in 2 regions (Nouvelle-Aquitaine and Pays de la Loire), the hilly landscapes of Limousin (Creuse, Haute-Vienne) and the countryside (Charente, Deux-Sèvres, Vendée) right up to the ocean beaches (Loire-Atlantique), magnificent little villages and towns of character and of course Limoges, surprising and full of charm.

To discover new cycling routes
Because you have the soul of an explorer and you like to discover new routes, you can be among the first to travel the Vélidéale open since June 2024 and discover all the diversity of the V93. Specific services and accommodation dedicated to cycling (Label accueil vélo) are gradually developing. That's good, we have a labeled accommodation Accueil Vélo à Limoges.

I want to warm up my calves, but not too much!
La Vélidéle it's not really flat. You are fans of the sequence of climbs/descents, you will enjoy yourself. But it remains very affordable muscle bike depending on the steps and pace you adopt. In addition, with a VAE (Electrically Assisted Bicycle) It's still much simpler.

To reach the Vélidéale, you have the choice ! 10 existing cycle routes are connected to the Velidée, offering you endless possibilities'long distance routes'. You will be able to borrow The Francette bike, The Scandibérique, The Loire à Vélo, The Vélodyssée… before arriving in Limoges via the Vélidéale. Once in Creuse, the Tour de la Creuse or La Vagabonde await you.

I would love to discover Limoges by bike!
That's good, the Velidale through Limoges. With its 2 unique city centers and its typical neighborhoods, Limoges will surprise you. Your calves will continue to warm up a little anyway, the city is not flat. If you park your bikes, a free electric shuttle allows you to move around the city center which is largely pedestrianized.

I want to do some nice cycling loops starting from Limoges
In Limoges, local loops allow you to explore the whole Haute-Vienne, a true secret paradise for cycle tourists and fans of discovery by bike. You can therefore use the Vélidéale as an entry or exit point and enjoy the hundreds of kilometres of cycle routes and cycle routes in Haute-Vienne. Also think about the TER train connections to move easily with your bike.

I would like to cross the Haute-Vienne only
The 80 km from the Velidée, between Rochechouart, Limoges, Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat and Lake Vassivière, are easily accessible. La Vélidéale in Haute-Vienne lets you discover a contemporary art museum in a castle, un unique site in France, witness of the fall of a meteorite one kilometer in diameter,Pouge pond PNR Périgord-Limousin and its more than 100 species of birds, Limoges with its historic districts and edges of vienna, a medieval village on the Way of St. James, as well as one of the largest lakes in France, the Vassivière lake.

I would like to do a Terra Aventura circuit by bike from La Vélidée
But of course, fans of the courses Terra Aventura, you will do a few more pedal turns to leave the Velideal and climb (yes, it climbs!) up to Bonnac-La-Cote (it’s aptly named!). The Terra Aventura course is called the “Cyclists are popular”. We have humor and muscular calves in Limoges and a great Velodrome starting point of the route.

I can easily come to Limoges by train
You have a sensitivity environmentally friendly and wish reduce the carbon footprint of your travels? That's good, “apple on the flognarde” (our equivalent of the Cherry on the Cake), the Limoges station in addition to being one of the most beautiful in France, allows you to easily arrive/leave by train with your bike! After discovering Limoges, all you have to do is slide along the banks of the Vienne to reach the Velideal.
