The Limoges Opera, initially named Grand Théâtre de Limoges then Opéra-théâtre de Limoges and renamed Opéra de Limoges since January 2016, is a performance hall located in the city center of Limoges. It is attached to the regional Conservatory of Limoges.
Lyrical shows (operas, concerts by the Limoges and Limousin Orchestra (OLIM), chamber music concerts, ballets) are given there, but also other non-lyrical shows (plays, contemporary music concerts, of French song, comedy shows and events linked to festivals (such as the Festival des francophonies in Limousin). It is one of the largest opera halls in France, just after the Bastille and Garnier operas.
In 2024, the Limoges Opera obtains the label “lyric theater of national interest”
