Limoges Land of Games 2024

Among the first cities to have received the Terre de Jeux label in November 2019, the City of Limoges (already labeled active and sporting city) in collaboration with Limoges Métropole and the Departmental Council of Haute-Vienne has applied to be a center preparation for the 2024 Games.

The Terre de Jeux label

Land of Games 2024 is a label intended for all levels of local authorities and the sports movement (federations, CROS-CDOS, CTOS) who wish, whatever their size and means, to engage in the adventure of Games.

The list of the first 500 municipalities labeled "Terre de Jeux 2024" by the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organizing Committee was unveiled on November 20, 2019, and Limoges, an active and sporting city, is one of them. This label, awarded by the Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, rewards local authorities who are now investing in the Olympic and Paralympic adventure of Paris 2024 and who, beyond that, are committed to promoting on a daily basis sports practice in their territory.

Limoges is delighted to take part in the great adventure of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games to instil the Olympic spirit and promote the actions carried out on its territory as well as its various sports facilities.

Becoming Terre de Jeux 2024 means benefiting from:

• sharing experience with a committed community
• the spotlight of the Games to promote your actions and your territory

This labeling is a first step for Limoges to be able to apply to become a Games preparation center and thus welcome national delegations. In consultation with Limoges Métropole, and in a logic of complementarity of equipment, the City is therefore applying to be a preparation center for the Games.

• Le Beaublanc sports park, for wheelchair basketball, basketball, football, wheelchair rugby and rugby 7s
• Le Lower complex, for BMX racing,
• THEAquapolis and the summer swimming pool Beaublanc, for water sports, 
• Le Henri Normand gymnasium, for goalball, handball and wheelchair rugby,
• Le Robert Lecomte departmental sports complex, for wheelchair fencing, judo, fencing and Paralympic judo
