Ranked among the 10 largest book festivals in France, Lire à Limoges welcomes more than 200 national authors to present their works of general, regional, crime fiction, comics and children's literature over three consecutive days.

Every year in Spring, Reading in Limoges brings together writers and readers from all backgrounds to share their passion for books. The festival returns this year to celebrate its 40e edition which will take place on 21,22 and 23 June with a new feature, programming on 2 different sites. Direction there rink for author dedications and go to Jean Gagnant cultural center for the rest of the activities: conferences, workshops, round tables and masterclasses!

The key dates for 2024

  • June 21, 2024: meeting in the city's schools, middle schools and high schools with children's authors who will visit the classes for privileged exchanges with the students. Delivery of different Biscuit, Sparkles and Gazettes prices at the Limoges Ice Rink, and award ceremony Val de l'Aurence the same day at the Jean Gagnant Cultural Center.
  • La Philosophy masterclass a privileged 2-hour meeting between a guest philosopher and an audience of high school students and university students.

Sorj Chalandon

Sorj Chalandon, renowned contemporary French journalist and writer, will chair Lire à Limoges 2024. He will present his latest successful novel “The madman” voted book of the year by Read Magazine. Former senior reporter and winner of the Albert-London prize, Sorj Chalandon is the author of ten novels acclaimed, including “The Fourth Wall”, winner of the Goncourt prize for high school students. His career illustrates both journalistic and literary commitment, positioning him as an essential figure on the contemporary literary scene.
